This painting has lit from within effect, from its remarkable luminosity. In showing it in previews, I received more than one comment that it reminded the viewer of a stand of Aspen trees. We don’t necessarily think of Aspens living in the Carolinas, but they thrive in the higher altitude regions in Western North Carolina. I hardly ever see them so I loved the thought of naming this piece for a sighting that is “double” fortuitous.
