A Witness to Silence
This painting captures stillness and spaciousness like no other due to the intentionally smooth surface at the upper part of the painting- a representation of visual silence. There’s a hush implicit in the air when you’re alone by the water in a stand of trees. The breeze creates a conversation between you, the trees, and the water. This painting carries that feeling of solace. The kind of peace that you get from being wrapped in stillness, reminded that you are part of something vast, that is deeply personal to you. Look closely and you’ll see a hint of moonlight beginning to emerge. I wanted to bring the feeling of being deeply immersed, yet in this vast space. I painted deep texture into the foreground of the piece - giving the viewer the sense of being a part of it, and not watching from afar. This painting is quiet, but carries all of the impact of a visual meditation.
This acrylic and mixed media painting is 24” by 20” on 1.5” gallery wrapped canvas. Framing this piece is optional, though I’d be delighted to assist if you’d like.
